Many of our former residents, families, friends and Veteran Organizations ask how they can "give back" to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in appreciation of the Veterans and the care they receive. One way to show appreciation is through a financial contribution.
Contributions are used to provide recreational outings and special equipment for our Veterans. Thomson-Hood offers a number of opportunities to honor a loved one and/or express appreciation. For more information email Assistant Administrator Gretchen Stidom at Gretchen Stidom , or call her at 859-858-1411.
If you would like to make donations directly to Thomson-Hood, please send donations to the:
Thomson-Hood Program Fund
100 Veterans Drive
Wilmore, KY 40390
Please provide us with your name, contact information, and a return address so that we may express our gratitude for your generosity.
Thank you for your continued support of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center!
Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks for considering volunteering at THVC. There are many areas that your support and assistance could be useful. You could visit with residents, play games, work in the gift shop or craft room, provide general office assistance, assist a resident with an activity, read to a resident, escort a resident to an appointment or just sit quietly with a resident. For more information email Leslee Horn, Volunteer Coordinator or call her at 859-858-2814, ext 1414.
If you have a special talent or would like to perform for our residents, please email Lauren Moore, Director of Activities or call her at 859-858-2814, Ext 1345.

Gifts to Employees
State law prohibits our employees, on or off duty, from accepting gifts or gratuities of any kind from residents, potential residents, former residents or families. If you wish to recognize an employee or group of employees, you may give something, such as a basket of fruit or box of candy, to be placed in a common area for all staff to share. A donation to our Trust Fund or purchase of an item that can be donated for the benefit of all residents is also acceptable. A complimentary letter is always appreciated.
