Serving Veterans in the Commonwealth

That is our mission, our job, and our privilege. We work every day to make sure Kentucky's 295,000 veterans and their families receive all the benefits and services they have earned. Here you will find information on benefits counseling, skilled long-term care at state veterans centers, dignified interment at state veterans cemeteries, health care, education, employment and special programs for women veterans, homeless veterans and others.

2025 KDVA 5K Run WalkOct. 11, 2025, KDVA held the 5th annual 5K Run Walk for the Homeless Veterans Program in the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY. A heartfelt thank you to all the runners, volunteers, and supporters who made the 5K for our veterans a success.

Patriot Day CeremonyFor the 24th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a Patriot Day ceremony was held at the 9/11 Memorial at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, in Radcliff, KY, September 11, 2025.

Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs has received it's fifth Abraham Lincoln Pillar Award, now five years in a row. This year it is received for the Customer Experience with Benefits and Services during our Benefits Claims Clinics.

KDVA State Commanders ConferenceOn August 28th and 29th, KDVA held its annual State Commanders Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. The conference had several federal, state and local leaders as well as Veterans Affairs and Veteran Service Organization leaders in attendance.
