Fifteen residents participated in Ride Across Kentucky, while never leaving the rehabilitation department.  As part of the level II restorative program, miles were  clocked and each resident received a certificate for participation at the end of the month.

Clinicians have seen a great increase of interest and participation from our veteran residents since the recent addition in the therapy gym of the Recumbent Cross Trainer. Our residents refer to this as the “bike”. By combining a natural sitting position with a smooth stepping motion, the cross trainer works all major muscle groups, giving an effective cardiovascular workout in a comfortable seated position. The design allows them to move their arms and legs in a single, dependent, fluid motion that simulates walking. It has a swivel seat adjustment making a safer transfer from and to the wheel chair to help prevent falls and injuries.

We are very proud of all our veterans for the hard work it takes to help restore and maintain their physical functioning.
